Over the years Mrs McFatridge, in part through her work with the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland, has developed a particular style of communicating sometimes very difficult and complex issues in a way that is easily understood by clients. This is particularly important for our older clients but also for those families suffering a recent bereavement, who need to feel comfortable and understood when seeking advice.
Mrs McFatridge qualified as a German Solicitor and worked in Germany as a judge in the administrative court and later as a specialist in European Law for the German Home Office. She came to Scotland in 1996 and qualified as a Scottish Solicitor as one of the first participants of the Law Society Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test. She first joined Ferguson & Will in 1997 in private practice and then gained experience in court work and local authority related work in the Angus Council Court Team and as a Procurator Fiscal Depute in Dundee. She returned to Ferguson & Will in 2005 when she also accepted an appointment as a Legal Member of the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland. Since her additional appointment as one of the Parking Adjudicators in Scotland in 2008 she dedicates 3 days per week to Ferguson & Will LLP as a partner of the firm.
